About Us

A History of Our Business

Celebrating 35 Years

In 1974 Roy Vaden began building in ground pools all over the middle-Tennessee area. He has over 45 years of pool construction experience. By the early 1980s, our family being residents of Wilson County, began to see a need for a pool supply and service business. This wasn’t our plan at first to expand, it happened in a gradual and unsuspecting way! Having the summers off as a teacher and being Roy’s wife, it began by testing pool water from the kitchen and selling chemicals from a small out-door building. Those fun days of customers drinking a glass of ice tea in the kitchen while getting their pool water tested quickly grew!

Most of our business was in the Nashville and the Wilson County area. Mt. Juliet was right in the center of where we wanted to be. We opened a pool retail store on Lebanon Road in Mt. Juliet in 1984. The retail store business expanded into pool service and pool parts. In those days customers came as far away as Cookeville and Brentwood since those areas did not have a pool business.

Now we operate much closer to home, mostly serving the residents of Wilson County and Nashville. Our store is in a new location off Lebanon Road on Market Place. We like to brag that we have the best employees a business can have.

When you walk into our store or call us on the phone, you’ll find that we are all about taking care of you. Our company has invested in the best products, staff training, and water testing equipment.

Why We are Considered an Essential Business

Pool Service & Repair

Exempt from the “Stay at Home” order are:

Plumbers, electricians, exterminators, and other service providers who provide services that are necessary to maintain the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences. Why?

  • The maintenance of properly sanitized swimming pools and other artificial bodies of water is necessary to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases and help maintain community health.
  • Without proper pool maintenance (which includes circulation and treatment of water) various pathogens can grow, such as Pseudomonas, Cryptosporidium, E. Coli, Shigella, etc. It can also create a breeding ground for mosquitoes, other pests and the diseases they may carry. This presents a risk not only to bathers but to the entire community at large.

Retail

Exempt from the “Stay at Home” order are:

Distributors of cleaning, sanitizing, disinfecting, or sanitation supplies. Those who provide services that are necessary to maintain safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences. Why?

  •  If you are attempting to treat your own pool, necessary chemicals can be and should be purchased. Many of the chemicals retailers sell can also be used for surface disinfection, drinking water treatment, and muchmore.
  • Retailers, such as ourselves, are making accommodations to service customers by offering curbside service and a drop-off area for water samples. Our staff will collect water samples throughout the day and contact customers with their test results. Our staff will also provide you with a list of necessary chemicals and have it ready for pick up at a designated day/time.

We believe that our work is essential and important to our community’s safety and well-being. We are fortunate to be able to work and provide a valuable service during this time. We also appreciate your patience as we operate with a reduced crew and limited hours.

“I  cannot say enough about the staff at Roy Vaden Pools! We are new Pool owners and they have been most gracious in helping us get started! Each of them have gone above and beyond to help us! We had problems with our pump and motor along with learning everything there is to know. They have taught us and guided us every step of the way! Thank you so much!”
